In der Reihe der The Little Black Book gibt es wieder Zuwachs. Nach unter anderem Classic Hits und Great Songs gibt es nun 70 Songs unter dem Titel All Time Smash Hits. Und sieht man sich die Titellist an, dann sieht man auch, dass man bekommt, was dieser Titel verspricht. Man hat dabei ganz bewusst auf Genregrenzen verzichtet, was meines Erachtens besonders gelungen ist. So steht hier “Take A Bow“ von Rihanna neben “The Candy Man“ von Sammy Davis Jr. . Es gibt aber auch “It Never Rains In Southern California“ von Albert Hammond oder “When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going“ von Billy Ocean und “You Are Not Alone“ von Michael Jackson. Allein die Aufzählung dieser wenigen Titel und Namen zeigt, dass man mit einer wirklich bunten Mischung bedient wird. So ist für jeden genügend Songmaterial enthalten.
Die Aufmachung ist wie gewohnt. Es gibt alle Texte mit dem kompletten Songablauf (die einzelnen Songabschnitte werden explizit angegeben) auf zwei bis drei (leider muss man dann blättern) Seiten. Direkt über dem Text stehen dann die Akkordsymbole an der jeweils richtigen Stelle. Zur besseren Orientierung hat man bei Vor-, Zwischen- und Nachspielen ohne Text zusätzlich Taktstriche angegeben, was das richtige Spiel sehr erleichtert. Zu Beginn eines jeden Songs sind die vorkommenden Akkorde noch mit Griffbildern gesondert abgedruckt, so dass man keine zusätzliche Grifftabelle benötigt. Mehr musikalische Angaben gibt es (leider) nicht. Eine Tempo- und eine Stilangabe fehlen. Allerdings muss man ein Lied, das man hier spielen möchte sowieso kennen, so dass man darauf auch verzichten kann. Es hätte das Ganze ein wenig abgerundet.
Dennoch ist auch The Little Black Book of All Time Smash Hits wieder sehr gelungen, was auch mit an der guten Songauswahl liegt (ob allerdings noch irgendjemand Interesse daran hat “The Land Of Make Believe“ von Bucks Fizz nachzuspielen wage ich zu bezweifeln). Eine schöne Ergänzung zu den bisher erschienenen Ausgaben. Empfehlung!
