CoraZong haben uns in den letzten Monaten mit einer Reihe feiner Alben im Bereich Songwriter, Country und Americana erfreut. Damit der, der zu spät bekommt, nicht vom Leben bestraft wird, legt das Label jetzt einen akustischen Katalog nach, in dem man blättern kann, um sich die eine oder andere Perle noch nachträglich zuzulegen.

Und um das Ganze noch ein wenig aufzuwerten, hat man sich nicht lumpen lassen. Hier wurde nicht einfach aus den erschienen Alben compiliert. Über die Hälfte der Tracks sind exklusive Songs oder Live-Aufnahmen. Dazu gibt es zwei Video-Tracks. Im Booklet wird jede Band kurz vorgestellt. So sollten Compilations aussehen.

Die erste Hälfte der ersten CD ist Songs vorbehalten, die sehr deutlich aus dem Country-Bereich beeinflusst sind. Dann geht es in die Breite. Songwriter, Americana, Blues und Rock sind zu hören. Die kraftvollsten Beiträge sind das treibende „Joe's gone ridin' von Patricia Vonne, ihre rockige „Rebel Bride“ in einer Live-Aufnahme aus New York und die Rock’n’Roll-Nummer „The Lights of Phoenix“ von JP den Tex. Ansonsten dominieren ruhigere Töne.

Highlights sind das düstere „Down in Nogales” von John Coinman, der jaulende Country Rocker „(Say) won't you be mine” von Last Train home und das fantastische „Elephant Crossing” von Inneke23 & the Lipstick Painters.
